The SSC Chess tournament will take place in Presentation Community College Terenure on the 25th of February (Senior) and 4th of March (Junior) 2026 from 11am until 2.30pm approximately.

We would be looking at teams of 5 students for both Junior and Senior from each school. Junior consists of 1st-3rd years and Senior TY’s -6th years. There is a possibility dependant on interest of entering two teams for Senior or Junior, so fill out the registration form twice if you wish to enter more than one team.

Tournament layout

Each player will have 7.5 minutes on their chess clock (15 minutes per game). Scores will be totalled, 3 points for match victory and 1 point for a draw. The team with the most points wins the match and then rotates to the next game in their group. The top two teams from each group will play in a final and the two second place teams will play in a 3rd place playoff.
