Student Council's Welcome

Welcome message from Max Rogers, Student Council President

Welcome to City of Dublin FET College, Ballyfermot. Whether you are returning after the summer break or beginning your journey here for the first time, you are very welcome to our college community. My name is Max Rogers, and I have had the honour of serving as President of the Student Council for the past academic year (25/26), and previously I had served as Vice President (24/25). I completed the Higher National Diploma in Music Production in 2025 and have just finished my final year of the BA in Media Production Management. On behalf of the Student Council, I would like to extend a warm welcome to every student starting their journey with the college.

City of Dublin FET College Ballyfermot is a vibrant, creative and supportive place to study. The college has a proud tradition of providing further and higher education across a wide range of areas, including animation, games, art and design, television, film and visual effects, media, music, business, administration and law, health, welfare and education. It is a place where students are encouraged to develop their talents, explore new ideas, build confidence and prepare for the next stage of their education, career and personal journey.

This is a college where creativity, individuality and ambition are valued. It is also a college where respect, inclusion, equal opportunity and student-centred learning are central to the experience of every learner.

Student life is not only about classes, assignments and deadlines. It is also about meeting people, making connections, discovering new interests and taking part in the wider life of the college. Clubs, societies, events and student-led initiatives are a great way to get involved, meet students from other courses and make the most of your time here.

The Student Council plays an important role in representing the student voice. It gives students the opportunity to share ideas, raise issues, support positive change and contribute to the development of the college community. I would strongly encourage you to get involved, speak up, take part and help shape the student experience for everyone.

Your time at City of Dublin FET College Ballyfermot is an opportunity to learn, grow, collaborate and be yourself. Make use of the supports available, engage with your teachers, connect with your classmates and take every opportunity that comes your way.

If you are interested in joining this year’s Student Council, please speak with your course co-ordinator or look out for further information during the year.
I wish you all a successful, enjoyable and rewarding year at City of Dublin FET College Ballyfermot.

Max Rogers
Student President
